Bangladesh tour of West Indies 2018, Third T20I, West Indies vs Bangladesh – Bangladesh won by 19 runs (DLS method)
Monday, August 06, 2018, Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida
West Indies bowling was poor at the death as they conceded 33 runs off the final 3 overs. With this super hitting, Bangladesh finished with a good 184 for 5 in their 20 overs. Under pressure Windies were at that stage looking not at all confident to chase this target down.
It was Liton Das at the top who scored at a brisk rate that helped Bangladesh to get off to a great start. He scored 61 runs off just 32 deliveries which includes 6 fours and 3 sixes. And then during the death overs, Mahmudullah (32* off 20) and Shakib al Hasan (24 off 22) had just done enough to get themselves to a comfortable total.
Chasing 185 to victory, it was another top order batting failure for the hosts. Andre Russell came down to bat in the middle order and from the word go he went berserk playing his shots all over the ground as the Required Run Rate kept climbing. He scored 47 runs off just 21 deliveries with 1 fours and 6 very huge sixes.
There were multiple rain breaks during the game. As soon as Russell departed, heavens opened up and match did not resume later. As a result, Bangladesh beat West Indies by 19 runs (DLS method) in this third T20I to win the three match T20I series by 2 – 1.
Bangladesh – 184/5 in 20 overs (Liton Das – 61, Mahmudullah – 32*, Keemo Paul – 2/26, Carlos Brathwaite – 2/32) beat West Indies – 135/7 in 17.1 overs (Andre Russell – 47, Rovman Powell – 23, Mustafizur Rahman – 3/31, Soumya Sarkar – 1/18) by 19 runs (DLS method)
