Indian former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni turns 37 today! We wish him a very happy birthday and good fortune in the year to come. How are you celebrating the birthday of India’s one of the most successful captains of Indian cricket?

3 – Mahendra Singh Dhoni has won all the three International Cricket Council (ICC) Trophies – World T20 trophy in 2007 (beating Pakistan), World Cup trophy in 2011 (beating Sri Lanka) and Champions Trophy in 2013 (beating England). He is the only Captain overall till date to have won all these three ICC trophies. Also, he led India to top of the ICC Test Team Rankings in 2009.

102 – Number of International half centuries scored by MS Dhoni (33 in Tests, 67 in ODIs, 2 in T20Is). He is only the fourth Indian player to score more than hundred plus half-centuries at the International level. Sachin Tendulkar (164), Rahul Dravid (145) and Sourav Ganguly (106) are the other three Indians to make this feat thus far.

178 – Number of International stumpings (38 in Tests, 107 in ODIs, 33 in T20Is) for MS Dhoni, most for any player at this level. Sri Lanka’s Kumara Sangakkara has 139 international stumpings, which is the second most by any player. Also, Dhoni has affected 780 dismissals in International cricket thus far, third most for any player.

331 – Number of International matches (60 Tests, 199 ODIs, 72 T20Is) played by Dhoni as captain. This is the most for any player at this level. Ricky Ponting, with 324 appearances as captain, is at the second in this list. Mohammad Azharuddin’s 221 International appearances as captain are second most among Indians.

134 – Number of International innings (16 in Tests, 78 in ODIs, 40 in T20Is) in which MS Dhoni remained unbeaten (not out). Most for any player at the international level. James Anderson of England with 122 not-outs is at the second in this list.

159 – Number of matches for Dhoni as captain in Indian Premier League (IPL). This is the most for any player in this tournament. Gautam Gambhir with 129 IPL caps as captain is second in this list.
