Indian Skipper Virat Kohli Continues to Break Records

Indian skipper Virat Kohli delivered a stunning knock-out blow as India took an unassailable 3-0 lead over South Africa in the ODI series. The Indian skipper was at his supreme best with a timeless knock that confirms his standing as the best batsman in the game.

The Indian skipper smashed his second century of the series as his 160 from 159 balls lead India to 6/303. South Africa simply don’t have the answers for the man affectionally known as Chiku.

Kohli continues to grow his status as India’s best ever batsman. The 2017 ICC Cricketer of the Year has moved ahead of the likes of Brian Lara on this tour. His 912 points please him in 26th position on the all-time list which is headed by Don Bradman (961 points).

Kohli will no doubt surpass ICC Cricket Hall of Famer Sunil Gavaskar on the tour to England.

The Indian skipper has started 2018 in the same fashion as 2017, hitting four centuries in his last six ODI innings.

India have the chance to go to the top of the ODI rankings if they continue with their current form. India will look to keep the foot on the throat of their opponents. The performance against the white-ball with give Kohli’s men confidence moving into the series with England later in the year.

The series continues with the fourth game in Johannesburg. Victory in that game will give India the series and put them top of the ODI rankings with the World Cup around the corner in 12 months’ time.
