Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Knight Riders Preview

IPL 2018, 37th Match, Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Knight Riders

Sunday, May 06, 2018, Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai

Match Preview:

After defeating the Kings XI Punjab in their own den, Mumbai Indians (MI) are now back to their own home ground to host the in-form Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the first game on Sunday. Play starts at 04:00 pm IST. This is going to be the second day-game for both these teams in this season; both lost their respective first games.

MI are coming into this game with a win over Kings XI Punjab, whereas the Kolkata Knight Riders are coming into this game at the back of a win against Chennai Super Kings. MI will be under tremendous pressure in this game as they cannot afford to lose a single game in their remaining five games.

Looking at the win-loss record this season, Mumbai won only one out of four games played at Wankhede stadium this season, whereas KKR won 2 in four Away games.

None of the KKR batsmen feature in the top 10 leading run scorers this season, but their batting looks strong with Sunil Narine as opener also supporting their strong batting line-up. On the other hand, one is yet to witness the batting fire power of the mighty Mumbai Indians.

Head to Head Record:

The Kolkata Knight Riders managed to beat the Mumbai Indians in only 5 games. Mumbai Indians won the rest 16 out of 21 games played. This is a complete dominance! Also, Mumbai won all the 5 games played against Kolkata.

Favorites to win:

It is a tough pick between these two teams. Going by the past record, Mumbai Indians have the chance to win this game. However, with the form in which KKR is in, it will be tough for Mumbai to beat them.
