IPL 2018, 26th Match, Delhi Daredevils vs Kolkata Knight Riders
Friday, 27th April, Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi
Match Preview :
The Delhi Daredevils host the Kolkata Knight Riders in an 8pm fixture here at the Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi
The hosts Delhi are in all kinds of problems with hardly anything going their way in the tournament so far. Gautam Gambhir stepped down from captaincy and the young Shreyas Iyer is handed over the responsibilities of the team. Injury Concerns of top players like Jason Roy and Chris Morris and the lean form of Gambhir are the big factors not helping their cause. Their position in points table is enough proof of that. Only Shreyas Iyer has shown some consistency with the bat. Rishabh Pant entertained with some occasional flares but collective effort is what that is missing from the team. Avesh Khan & Liam Plunkett bowled pretty well and that has been their only positive so far. Changes are the order of the day for the Delhi Daredevils.
The Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand are a confident team extracting the best of its players. Dinesh karthik the skipper has led the team well so far in the tournament. They would love to take on Delhi in this situation with the opponents in some sort of disarray. Robin Uthappa, Sunil Narine, Chris Lynn have been their biggest positives. Narine proving equally effective with the bat is a happy sign for them. Meanwhile, Andrew Russell, their match winner, is recovering form a hamstring niggle, which he sustained during the team’s last game. The Kolkata Knight Riders might not make any changes to their playing XI.
