IPL 2018, 35th Match, Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore
Saturday, May 05, 2018, Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune
After losing to KKR at The Eden, The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are now back to their new home ground, Pune, to host Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the first game on Saturday evening. Play starts at 04:00 pm IST.
CSK are coming into this game with a defeat against the KKR at the Eden Gardens on Thursday. On the other hand, the RCB are on a high after defending a good total against batting heavy Mumbai Indians on Tuesday.
Watch out for Shane Watson as he blazed the stadium with a brilliant century – 106 off 57 deliveries, when CSK played their first home game in Pune.
Ravindra Jadeja’s place in the team will surely come under the scanner as has scored just 59 runs and picked up 3 wickets in the 9 games he played so far for the CSK in the ongoing season. Being a retained player, much is expected from him and his performances so far are not up to the mark.
RCB might not make any changes to their playing XI from the previous game in which they defeated Mumbai Indians in Bangalore.
First game result between these two teams in this season:
RCB scored a mammoth 205 with the help of quick-fire half centuries from the South African duo AB de Villiers and Quinton de Kock. Just when everyone thought the mighty total would be enough, Rayudu (82) and Dhoni (74) helped CSK chase down the target with ease!
Head to Head record:
Out of the 21 games played against each other, CSK had won 13 games and RCB had won just 7 games with the other game washed out. Here is a stat to cherish for the Chennai fans – CSK won all the five recent IPL games played against RCB.
Favorites to win:
The Chennai Super Kings have a clear advantage over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the past. And taking the current form into consideration, CSK are clearly the favorites to win this game. RCB are coming into this game with a win against Mumbai Indians and they can provide a tough fight with the kind of batting line up they have.
