Chennai Super Kings beat RCB by six wickets

IPL 2018, 35th Match, Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore – Chennai Super Kings won by 6 wickets

Saturday, May 05, 2018, Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune

Match Wrap:

All round Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by six wickets in the Pune stadium to take the top position in the points table! This is not a great result for RCB as they just complicated their chances to get into the top 4.

CSK won the toss and opted to bowl against the batting heavy Royal Challengers, however, only Opener Parthiv Patel and no. 8 Tim Southee managed to get to double figures. With a complete batting failure, RCB could only managed to get to 127 for the loss of 9 wickets in their 20 overs.

Harbhajan Singh and Ravindra Jadeja bowled well for Chennai as they bagged 5 wickets between them conceding just 40 runs in their 8 overs. Both the bowlers were economical and did not let the RCB batsmen off the hook.

The chase was not as easy as everyone expected. Nonetheless, Chennai got to the target in 18 overs registering their 7th win in 10 games. Rayudu and Dhoni are once again their top performers with the former becoming the first player in this season to get past the 400-run mark.

RCB are now with 3 wins and 6 losses in their 9 games. Another defeat in their next five games means that they are almost out of the ongoing season. With the kind of batting line up they have, it has been a disappointing tournament so far for them.
