Sunday,April 22nd , Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur
Match Review :
The Rajasthan Royals hosted the Mumbai Indians in a night game here at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
Having won the toss, the Mumbai Indians won and decided to bast first. They lost Evin Lewis of the very first ball, thanks to a gem of a delivery from Dhawal Kulakarni. Ishan Kishan joined Suryakumar Yadav and kept the scoreboard moving at a healthier rate. These two added 129 runs to the team score in 13.4 overs and the Mumbai Indians are well on track for 200.Ishan Kishan(58), Suryakumar Yadav(72) & Rohit Sharma(0,1b) got out very quickly and Mumbai’s run-rate came down drastically and they had to settle down for a mere 167/7 in their 20 overs. Jofra Archer was the pick of the bowlers for Rajasthan Royals; he picked up 3-22 in his 4-over spell.
The Rajasthan Royals lost both the openers early. Sanju Samson & Ben Stokes steadied the innings and kept their team well in course of the target. But then came a twist in when they needed 44 from 4 overs. Jasprit Bumrah bowled an excellent over conceding just 1 run and picked the two priced scalps of Ben Stokes & Sanju Samson and gave his team more than a chance to win the game. Jos Butler & Heinrich Klaasen got out without troubling the scorers much. The Royals were soon reduced to 125-6 in 17 overs. Krishnappa Goutham had other plans though, he blistered 33 of just 11 balls which included 4x4s & 2x6s and took his team over the line with 3 balls to spare and ended their 3 match losing streak.
The Mumbai Indians once again in this year’s IPL lost a game in the last over.
