Women’s Tri Series in England, Second Match, England Women vs South Africa Women – England Women won by 121 runs
Wednesday, June 20, 2018, The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton
In case if you are still wondering with your mouth wide open at England’s record breaking Men’s ODI total, here enter the England Women, who just raised the bars in the Women cricket scoring the all-time highest Women’s T20I team total – 250 for 3 in 20 overs against South Africa Women. Previous best total was New Zealand’s 216 which was scored on the same day against the same opposition!
In case if you wondering, here is how it happened: England, South Africa and New Zealand are currently playing a Women’s T20I Tri series in England starting from June 20th to July 01st. Probably, the schedule of this Tri series would be the worst one would get to see as a team is forced to play two back-to-back T20Is on the same day.
South Africa have played both New Zealand and England on Wednesday (June 20) in back-to-back games and conceded record team totals in Women’s T20Is. A nightmarish day on the field for them, which they would want to forget as soon as possible.
Tammy Beaumont of England scored 116 to help England to get to this record team total. She also seems to be in some tremendous form with the bat as this is her third consecutive century in International cricket – 101 and 105 against the same opposition in the ODIs just before the start of this Women’s T20I tri series.
England Women – 250/3 in 20 overs (Tammy Beaumont – 116, Danielle Wyatt – 56, Stacey Lackay – 2/59) beat South Africa Women – 129/6 in 20 overs (Dane van Niekerk – 72, Katherine Brunt – 2/18, Danielle Hazell – 2/35) by 121 runs
