Caribbean Premier League, Final Match, Trinbago Knight Riders vs Guyana Knight Riders – Trinbago Knight Riders won by 8 wickets

Monday, September 17, 2018, Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad

Match Wrap:

Third CPL title for Trinbago Knight Riders and second title on the trot. They are the first team in the history of CPL to win two successive titles and a total of three titles. Colin Munro with his sixth half-century of the season guided Trinbago to an easy win in the big final in Trinidad.

Batting first, Guyana Amazon Warriors got to 147 for 9 in their 20 overs. Barring Luke Ronchi (44 off 35), none of their batsmen looked comfortable. Their slow batting only increased pressure on themselves! Ali Khan provided a great start for Trinbago by removing Cameron Delport with the very first delivery of the match!

In reply, Trinbago opened with Denesh Ramdin and Brendon McCullum. Ramdin, a surprise opener, though looked floppy but he played a great supporting hand! Colin Munro remained unbeaten till the end scoring an unbeaten 68* off just 39 deliveries and helped Trinbago bag the CPL 2018 title!

“To come out and put up a performance like this was outstanding. Means a lot to all of us,” said elated Colin Munro after the CPL 2018 championship victory!
