Thursday, September 13, 2018, Providence Stadium, Guyana

Match Wrap:

Unlike the first Qualifier, the Eliminator between Tallawahs and Patriots is a very high scoring affair. However, both the first qualifier and the eliminator ended with the same result – won by 2 wickets with a ball to spare! Opener Glenn Phillips powered Tallawahs to a massive 191 for 5 in 20 overs while Anton Devcich scored at a fast rate and helped Patriots get over the line with a ball to spare and 2 wickets in hand.

Both Glenn Phillips of Tallawahs (103 off 63) and Anton Devcich of Patriots (50 off 23) batted well but the latter having ended up on the winning side got the ‘Player of the match’ award. “I am very grateful to get the award. Glenn probably deserves it more.  I’d like to pay tribute to that knock, it was phenomenal,” said Anton Devcich after receiving the award.

With this victory, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots move straight to the ‘second Qualifier’ and will face Trinbago Knight Riders on Saturday. The winner of ‘second Qualifier’ will move to the final to play Guyana Amazon Warriors on Monday. On the other hand, Jamaica Tallawahs have been crashed out of CPL 2018! In the round robin games in CPL 2018, Patriots has a 1-1 win-loss record against Knight Riders.
