India vs Pakistan 'Super Four' game Preview

Asia Cup 2018, Super Four, Third Match, India vs Pakistan

Sunday, September 23, 2018, Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai

Match Preview:

Arch-rivals India and Pakistan are getting ready to come face to face for the second time in the ongoing Asia Cup. Pakistan seemed to be no match to the mighty Indians in their first outing as Hong Kong against India fared better than Pakistan! India are certainly going into this match as favorites with three wins in games.

Pakistan, on the other hand, lost a game and won the other two games. Their game against Afghanistan had all the twists and turns but they held their nerve to win the game in the final over. However, one cannot write off Pakistan just by their performance in their previous games. Champions Trophy in 2017 was a highlight for them – they beat India in the final by a big margin after losing to the same opponents cheaply at the group stage!

The winner of this game will go directly in to the Asia Cup 2018 final. India are expected to go into this match unchanged while Pakistan might pull in Mohammad Amir after dropping him for the Afghanistan clash. Shadab Khan who sustained an injury earlier is also expected to make a return.

Numbers to watch out for:

  • Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar needs four more wickets to complete 100 ODI wickets.
  • Indian wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal need 2 wickets to complete 50 ODI wickets.
