India’s new Star all-rounder, Hardik Pandya has been rested for the home test series against Srilanka. Pandya was initially named in the 16 man squad but Selection committee today (November10), decided to exclude his name from squad and rested him due to his heavy workload.
Pandya is regular in ODI and T20 side, and has recently played all the games in the home series against New Zealand.
India will tour South Africa, after the Test series against Sri Lanka, so BCCI decided to give Pandya a break.
In South African conditions, Pandya’s medium pace will be crucial for India, so BCCI have given rest to Pandya and ensure he didn’t face any injury before the very important South Africa tour.
