India win the series 1-0 after Sri Lanka Draw the third test
The third and the final test match between India and the Sri Lanka played at Feroz Shah Kotla results in a draw. Sri Lanka were 31-3 at the day 4 stumps with Mathews and Dhananjaya on the crease.
Day 5 starts with the wicket of Mathews, who was caught at slip off the bowler Ravindra Jadeja. Sri Lanka were struggling to save the test match, as they were 35-4. Sri Lankan captain joins Dhananjaya in the middle and both contributed 112 runs partnership, before Chandimal was clean bowled on 38 by Ashwin.
In-experienced pair of Dhananjaya and Roshan Silva took the responsibility of saving the game for Sri Lanka, and both played sensibly and ensures no fall of further wickets.
Meanwhile, Dhananjaya scored his third International test hundred. He was struggling in the middle due to cramps and was finally been retired out. On the other hand, his partner, Roshan, was playing well and scored crucial 74 runs in the match.
Dickwella, who is known for his aggressive batting joins Roshan and both resisted India for the draw in the final test match of the series.
With this match been drawn, India won the three match series 1-0 and retains number 1 Test ranking.
Virat Kohli was adjudged as both the Man of the match and series.
India now have 9 consecutive Test series win.
