Asia Cup 2018, Super Four Stage, India vs Bangladesh
Friday, September 21, 2018, Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai
India are coming into this game with a morale boosting 8-wicket victory against Pakistan while Bangladesh, on the other hand, were defeated in the hands of Afghanistan in their previous game. Both India and Bangladesh are expected to make changes in the first game of the ‘Super Four’ stage. Play is scheduled to start at 05:00 pm IST (03:30 pm local time).
Leaving out Lokesh Rahul for the first two games did not go well many across the globe and his comeback against Bangladesh in this game is also highly unlikely. Be it with the bat or with the ball, Ambati Rayudu, Dinesh Karthik and Kedar Jadhav all have proved their worth in the game against Pakistan. And with two single-digit scores in England ODIs, Rahul won’t be back in India’s line-up any time soon.
India are forced to make a change to their playing XI in this game as Hardik Pandya injured himself against Pakistan. Experienced Ravindra Jadeja and young Deepak Chahar are the two options which are in front of India at the moment. They cannot go for Khaleel Ahmed as batting was a primary concern for India in the recent past. We feel Ravindra Jadeja gets a nod ahead of Chahar as the former is fresh from a half-century in the fifth Test match against England at The Oval.
Bangladesh have rested few of their players in their dead-rubber affair against Afghanistan. Rested players Mushfiqur Rahim and Mustafizur Rahman are likely to make a comeback and replace Mominul Haque and Rubel Hossain in their playing XI.
